Our commitment to the environment
Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. We take great pride in our position as a pioneering force in climate action within the salary packaging and novated leasing industry. Simplygreen’s passion for environmental sustainability and social impact has always driven our practices, products and ethos. We believe that it is our responsibility to reduce our negative impact on the environment, balancing profit and purpose throughout our business.
In 2007, we set bold targets, a 100% carbon offset fleet, a commitment we’ve maintained since our inception. Looking ahead, we understand the value of evolving our carbon emissions goals to achieve a carbon negative footprint. We want to help our members minimise their impact on our environment. We facilitate a way for 85% of our customers to reduce their own carbon emissions as part of their salary packaging deductions. Simplygreen then tops up the remainder to ensure we are decarbonising 100% of our fleet!

Climate Active
As of 2023 Simplygreen received Climate Active certification, which affirms our business as carbon neutral. Climate Active uses one of the most rigorous testing standards in the world, built upon international best practice standards and are subject to independent verification.
To become carbon neutral, Simplygreen calculates our greenhouse gas emissions generated by our products and procedures to build a picture of our current carbon footprint. Reducing our overall emissions where possible is our first priority as a business, through reducing our waste and purchasing energy from renewable sources. Any emissions that we aren’t able to reduce out of our operations are offset by our purchase of carbon credits.

B-Corp
In 2020, Simplygreen achieved B-Corp certification, joining a community of leaders who drive a global movement towards a more sustainable and inclusive economy. Our B-Corp certification assures our clients that Simplygreen Salary Packaging upholds the highest social and environmental standards throughout our services and processes. Simplygreen’s impact assessment considers our practices surrounding governance, workers, community, environmental and customer practices, to ensure our social and environmental ethos carries across our business.
This evaluation process offers Simplygreen the valuable opportunity to continuously enhance our practices, pinpointing and monitoring areas of growth for our business.

1% for the Planet
At Simplygreen our commitment to environmental causes has driven us to join the 1% for the Planet community. Each year, we pledge to donate 1% of our total revenue to environmental causes, such as Australian Conservation Foundation, Seed Mob, Wildlife Victoria, CERES Farm and Karrkad Kanjdji Trust.
1% for the Planet evaluates and endorses the environmental organisations we support, offering an independent seal of approval that verifies our genuine commitment to furthering environmental causes through financial support.

Volunteering
Volunteering by making the world a better place is what we’re about at Simplygreen. In 2023, we rolled up our sleeves to volunteer at CERES Farm, an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm and social enterprise hub. Our employees are empowered to volunteer individually with their annual two volunteer days.

Electric Vehicle Policies
We understand that transitioning to an electric vehicle can be a daunting process. However, creating long lasting change in Australia’s carbon emissions includes a major shift from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. To ease the transition to EVs we’ve made sure to be at the forefront of developments in the EV space, and created a number of initiatives to lessen the financial burden of making the change to an EV.
These include:
- A 30% reduction in administration fees for electric vehicles throughout the duration of a novated lease.
- Reduced interest rates on all Electric Vehicles
- Reimbursement of up to $2,000 for any home charging installation costs
